My abstract landscape photography at Clackamas Women's Services, OR

I am delighted and honored that Clackamas Women's Services in Oregon City, OR chose my abstract landscape photography to fill their new Safe Place Family Justice Center.  Clackamas Women's Services (CWS) based in Oregon City, OR  "...offers free services to survivors of  domestic and sexual violence providing support to individuals and families as they work towards a self-sufficient, violent-free life".

A Safe Place Family Justice Center, completed at the end of 2013, is where victims of abuse can run to in a time of crisis and deal with their next steps all under one roof:-

"from spiritual support, housing services, legal counseling, financial support services.” Also, "survivors of domestic violence will be able to talk with a counselor, file a police report, find a battered-women’s shelter, join a support group and get a restraining order from a judge — all in one building called A Safe Place" .

A lot of survivors and their families did not know where to run to as there are so many steps to deal with in order to get out of the unsafe situation so they often go back to the abuser as it seems the easiest option.  Now, the new Safe Place is a safe environment for victims to run to and where everything can be dealt with together:  a “one-stop shopping so we can provide wraparound services to victims, so families don’t have to go place-to-place,”

I am thrilled that CWS selected 22 images from my portfolio to fill their new Safe House and I hope individuals will find solace looking at my images during their time there.

Affordable abstract landscape photography for your home or office.

i have been selling my photography for offices and homes all around the world for the past 4 years.  I create contemporary abstract landscape photographs of all moods and colors and adore creating new pieces.  So my work is affordable I have an inventory of about 1000 photographs.  My subject matter was something I started developing about 12 years ago when photographing in nature.  If you love calming, zen-like imagery that is abstract and painterly in nature but with a distinct reference to seascape and distant landscapes then you are sure to love my work.  I have sold to all different clients in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia as well as Australia and also to all types of entities:  interior designers, PR, healthcare, luxury yachts, hotels, law firms, musicians, publishing companies, casinos and non-profit.  i am an award-winning photographer with photographic competitions such as the International Photography Awards (IPA) and Worldwide Photographic Gala Awards (WPGA) and I have exhibited my work in Boston, MA; Santa Fe, NM and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

If you are looking for affordable artwork for your home or office then browse my company website and etsy shops listed below.  If you have any questions please do contact me through either of these sites and I will be delighted to answer any questions.

Frances Seward's abstract landscape photography for healing.

I am going to be taking a trip to the UK next week to see my father.  He is 88 years old and ailing faster than we thought!  I have lived in the States 12 years and it is now that I feel I need to be there during his last months.  I cannot go for long since I have a 6 year old and another on the way.  It is a hard time for me and something I have been anticipating for a while.  I must remember to think of my imagery especially those that are particularly peaceful since some have more energy than others.  These are the pieces I think about:

Trip to Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park

Recently I came back from a very inspiring trip to Arches National Park and Canyonlands.  I only had three days there and so I fitted in long days and even into the night so that I could see as much as possible.  It was an incredible time.  I felt like I was going back in time to the beginning of time for instance descending into the canyon of Canyonlands towards Green River - descending into rocks millions of years old and as you descend the rocks get older.  HUGE Rocks all in disarray uplifted and fallen by volcanoes and earthquakes haphazardly to form this wonderful creation.  Nature's creations over millions of years.  I ventured into Needles which has the most imposing entrance I have ever seen - huge mesas with beautiful carvings as if created by an artist of the Renaissance as well as pyramid like structures as if I were in Egypt or Mexico.  I was in awe for the whole trip and photos cannot convey the size of these places in the Southwest.  I sat under one structure under the stars and half a moon called Courthouse at Arches in pure darkness and felt the imposing energy of this structure.  It is the second photograph above.

Here are some of my images of the trip:

Retired Professor from the Corcoran School Of Art features my abstract landscapes.

I am delighted and honored that the retired Professor of Photography from The Cocoran School Of Art - Joe Cameron featured one of my pieces on his blog.  What he said about my work:

'My influences are more likely to be abstract painters than photographers. So I quite naturally was charmed by the poetic and abstract nature of your photographs'.

On Rothko

One of the the most influencial artists for me is Mark Rothko.  I love the simplicity of his work and yet his work is emotionally powerful and complex on a monumental level.  When I visited his works at the Tate in London in 2010 I stood quite close to his paintings and I literally was swaying, hypnotised - every movement in his brushstrokes is deliberate, alive and symbolic.  I get his work.  I think Rothko is a genius as many others do and I am so happy he created all these monumental paintings.  I haven't found a painter like him who has had such an effect on me.  The experience is all there before you and you never know what may come up for you when you take the time to stand or sit infront of one of these environments for at least a half hour:  more like all day for me!!  I am including some of his images below though a small image does not do them justice.  It is just an introduction to his work.

Thank you for taking a look!  The last picture is taken at the Rothko Chapel in Houston, TX.

Frances Seward's latest Favorites on Etsy - art, design, fashion

These are some of my latest favorites on Etsy:-

Amanda RaeK's photograph of the Eastern Shore Farm looks centuries old and the image has been very cleverly created.  It reminds me of the Oast Houses seen in Kent, England but it is not the same thing of course.

Groundwork's I'm sorry but you were holding me back limited edition print has a title that really caught my attention.  I wonder if it is a polite way of saying bye bye to a lover - well at least the drawing is beautiful and it is very polite and to the point.  I love it!

RobbieMoto's leather purses are beautifully and originally designed with many vibrant colors.

MSTRF's table is just divine.  The smooth surface with the natural cracks in the wood are just so....mmmmmmmmm!

Imagine Studio's Parisian Grafitti is just so evocative, full of detail and delicious textures and contrast with the white background where the image just fades into the abyss.

The Haunted Hollow Tree's print Sanctuary is so personal and evokes so much pleasure and need for our time in solitude.

My Mazing's print of Wapping congures up the industrial part of London so well.

ShannonPix's vintage image of Pacific Beach in San Diego could have been taken 50 years ago and the artist has been very clever in making it look like an old shot with the sparsely populated beach and the sepia tint.

Irene Suchocki's Dream-like Mysterious Ways is just breathtaking.

Lana Stepul's Sexy Black Jersey Maxi Skirt look so comfortable, versatile and fun.

Labirinthinenature's Esquina de Nosotros - I am simply just in love with..

Kinagorska's windy cup and peacock bowl are beautifully detailed and her process for creating these pieces is quite some interesting story.

Byloomandhyde's leather handbags are beautifullly original and made in Angouleme, France

Last but not least Birdloft's Island Barn Coffee Table is just so raw and interesting.  It is an art piece unto itself.
